All Are Welcome at Bogmire

Bogmire University was founded on the belief that magical knowledge should be open to all who seek it.

Our students, faculty, and staff come from many cultures, communities, and magical traditions. Bogmire welcomes individuals of every ethnicity, nationality, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, magical lineage, and species.

Discrimination, harassment, and exclusion have no place within our halls.

A University Between Worlds

Bogmire occupies a distinction shared by few institutions: it exists in both the Otherworld and the Human World.

Its Human World grounds lie among the Moorlands of Londonderry, Northern Ireland, where Bogmire appears as the ruins of an ancient castle. The main entrance may be directed between worlds by means of the University gate mechanism, allowing authorised students, faculty, and visitors to enter Bogmire from either realm.

Bogmire Campus

Bogmire is an extensive campus built upon an ancient citadel once known as Arestarus. Generations of construction have grown around and above structures considerably older than the University itself.

Students are reminded that doors, staircases, corridors, and underground passages not included on official University maps are omitted for a reason.

The University also maintains one of the largest libraries available to students of advanced magic.

Instruction at Bogmire combines theory, history, experimentation, and practical application.

Areas of study include Charms and Hexes, Potions, Herbology, Alchemy, Healing and Remedial Magic, Astrology, Divination, Magical Combat, Zoomancy, and other specialised disciplines offered by the University.

Admission to regular study ordinarily requires substantial prior magical education. Applicants must also demonstrate magical ability through the University’s Enrollment Trial before being admitted to classes.

Exceptional young practitioners may, at the discretion of the University, be considered for specialised instruction.
