Students learn how Ethra are constructed, powered, repaired, and controlled. Coursework ranges from Etheric circuitry and mechanical design to machine cognition and the development of autonomous Ethra capable of operating without direct instruction.
The department occupies several workshops and laboratories equipped for the construction and testing of Ethra. Students spend a considerable amount of time working directly with machinery, and protective eyewear is required in most practical courses.
Copies of The Practical Pocket Book of Ethranomics are available in several workshops and classrooms, but students are encouraged to purchase their own.
